Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program

The Pennsylvania Department of Education has officially notified the Claysburg-Kimmel School District that the Claysburg-Kimmel High School has been designated as a low-achieving school.  Public elementary and secondary schools within the commonwealth that rank in the lowest 15 percent for the 2015-2016 school year received this designation.  The designation  is based on the combined scores from the annual assessments administered in 2016.

ATHLETIC PHYSICALS 2017-2018

FYI – 2017-2018 Physicals are as follows on July 25, 2017:

3:00 PM – ALL Football - Varsity/JH

3:30 PM – ALL Volleyball - Varsity/JH

4:00 PM – ALL Basketball - Varsity/JH - Boys and Girls

4:30 PM – ALL Wrestling/Cheerleading

5:00 PM – ALL Baseball/Softball – V/JH and ALL Track & Field

NOTE: This is the only date/time(s) Claysburg Medical Center will conduct physicals for the 2017-2018 athletic teams.  If you cannot attend, you will need to have a physical completed by your family physician or other source.

24 Math Challenge

24 Challenge Participants
Four 7th graders travelled along with one 8th grader to the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center, May 18, 2017. Each student competed in 3 rounds during the tournament.  This is the first time that a group of Bulldogs has entered the tournament and one of our 7th grade students, Josh Emeigh, came home with a bronze medal for the overall general round in the competition.   All of our students represented Claysburg-Kimmel well and gave a great effort during the tournament.

Kassidi Rininger (8th),Rebekah Claar (7th),
Wyatt Buell (7th), Josh Emeigh (7th) and Ethan Diehl (7th).



Try-Math-A-Lot Problem Solving Competition

 Try-Math-A-Lot Participants

Seven 7th graders travelled along with six 6th graders to Central Cambria Middle School on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. Each student was placed on a team consisting of 4 students with 6th & 7th graders from other schools throughout the region.  They competed in 3 different problem solving activities throughout the evening.  It was a learning experience for our Bulldogs because they had to work cooperatively with students that they had not previously met.  All of our students represented Claysburg-Kimmel well and gave a great effort during the competition. The CK junior high members were Abigail Gonsman, Rebekah Claar, Bailey Garver, Dylan Larson, Cassie Berkhimer, Kayley Haney and Zeke Barr.

Dear Claysburg-Kimmel Class of 2018

 We are pleased to announce that Manning Photography will be providing the yearbook senior portraits for the Class of 2018.  As the school has already informed you, students graduating in 2018 are required to have their formal yearbook photo taken by Manning Photography at no charge.  Manning will also be providing informal / casual photos at the same time.

 Manning Photography will have a complete studio set up for two days over the summer in the CKHS Auditorium/Stage (enter through the Main Office). The dates are:   July 20th and 21st  

 Please sign up for one of these 2 days.  For students on vacation, there will be a make-up day in the fall.  Otherwise, please pick a time slot on July 20th or 21st.

 The schedule to sign up will be on the bulletin board outside of the library.  You must sign up for a time slot before the end of the school year!!

 Basic information about senior summer photo sessions:

 

  • You are required to have Manning Photography do your senior formal.Female students, please wear a dressy outfit.Male students are required to wear a shirt and tie.
  • You are encouraged to provide the yearbook a casual portrait for the senior pages.Manning Photography will provide this as an option over the summer.

 

More detailed information about preparing for your session will be mailed home along with a final schedule in June.
